DEAR PEOPLES
PLEASE LEAVE FOR ME SOME COMMENTS TO MAKE ME HAPPY. DID YOUR DOGS EVER HAVE PHYSICO THERPY? DO THEY HAVE ARTHRITIS TOO? WHAT HAPPENED? DID THE PT HELP THEM?
THANK YOU.
SPARKY
SPARKY!!! IT’S YOU!! IT’S SPARKY THE WUNDERDOG. SPARKY THE WITTIEST, MOST LOVED AND SPOULED DOGGY ON THE PLANET!!! And all spoiliing is well deserved, right? How in rhe world could you NOT spoil someone as adorable as you??
I hope someday you write a book because you chronicle your journey in the most fun and interesti way evvvvr!!
OMD! Hard ro believe you’ve been a tripawd for twelve-thirteen years!! WOW!! I have to chuckle when I think you used to be shy, because you are certainly a social butterfly now! I know you love peeples now and we certainly love you!!
Did you ever get a “grandmotherly-type” who will give you lots of treats as your new companion while your hooman works? A housesitter who has mo cats with her, right???
My Frankie is a tripawd (front) and has had two surgeries on each of his back legs a year apart. Not sure exactly how long he’s been a tripawd as I adopted him that way, but prob st least five years. He has bad arthritis in his spine legs, shoulder, blah, blah, blah.
I have done some Rehab visits with him. As you kmow, quite expensive so not able to continue. as much as I would like. But yeah, lots of things I can do at home. The joy he got out of her professional massages was a ,beautiful thing to behold!!! We also used the ASSI LOOP as well as some laser. I honestly couldn’t tell you if they were helpful or not.
I tried one water treatmill with him and it was a big fail! Just not for him.
Franmie’s on Dasquin Joint Supplements, Rimadyl as needed, and an occassional Gabapentin. I’ve tried Galliparant instead of Rimadyl in the past and cannot realky say if I think one is better than the other. If I had to pick, I think I would say Rimadyl.
I tried Adequan injections, but never really got to do it consistently enough at first due to one thing or another. You’re supposed to do it twice a week for four weeks, then once a wee, every two weeks then monthly. I may be wrong on the frequency, but I ” think” that was the plan. As funds and time permit, I would like to try it again for the full course as many pe6op do have really good resu9 woth it.
Wyatt Ray is trying a new pill, but darn if I can remember the name. I’ve been meaning for to email Rene and see if it’s helped. I’ll post back here when I get the info.
Okay Sparky, you keep on rockin’ sweet boy!!! We all absolutely adore you snd love, love, love hearing from you!!!
Massive amounts of love and higs yo uou andnyour hooman!!❤❤
Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!
Sparky I’m so glad you shared your rehab dogtor story! Sounds like that was quite an adventure. I know it took a lot for you and your mom to go so very far away to see the dogtor. I hope you are feeling better now. It sounds like they did a very good job looking you over and finding out why you are hurting.
Your mom may be interested in a couple of blog posts we wrote about older Tripawd dogs and arthritis. Maybe you can read these to her?

Hi Sparky! My kitty Mona has gone for chiropractic treatments and I was shown how to massage her. Right after Mona’s amputation I discovered that she loves both ice and heat, massages, doing her stretching, being brushed and fussed over. She now seems to even enjoy car rides and visiting the vet. I think it’s because they fuss over her and she feels pretty special. Why not? Tripawds are special.
It’s not obvious that Mona has arthritis but had kidney problems this year and has now directed me to feed her by hand so her brother doesn’t touch her food. Well, you know the saying “Dogs have owners, cats have staff.” It seems to me that you have a good team of staff with physio, rehab and your mommy. Enjoy the attention. It’ll make you feel better.
