Update:
Little boy is acting okay. We saw the doctor on Friday and she checked his mouth and he doesn’t have any pain or infection. She can’t tell what is wrong with him but his gut isn’t working right so she gave him a five day course of metronidazole, an antibiotic that is supposed to help him with that. He has been eating shredded chicken and broth and a few treats. To my knowledge, he hasn’t pooped since Thursday and hasn’t had a solid stool since Monday. He won’t eat canned pumpkin. I am cooking another pot of chicken soup for him. I don’t know what else to do.
The doctor said he will need an ultrasound on his tummy if he doesn’t get better. I think his stomach must hurt him.
I am cooking special food and hand feeding him and giving him meds five times a day. I know he doesn’t have cancer or anything terrible like so many tripawds, but for me this is scary.
Reassure me, would you please? Also, besides chicken soup is there something else I could give him?
