IT IS SO GOOD TO SEE YOU AGAIN.
DO YOU WANT TO KNOW WHAT I DID TODAY? I GOED WALKING AND MOMMY. WE GOED IN THE BANK. THE BANK MAN CALLED AARON GIVED TO ME A PUPPERONI TREAT. IT WAS KIND OF STALE BUT I EATED IT.
WE GOED TO THE LIBRARY TO PRACTICE BEING QUIET. I SITTED ON MOMMYS LAP. SHE RUBBED MY EARS TO HELP ME STAY QUIET. THEN THE LIBRARIAN CALLED KAREN SITTED ON A CHAIR. I JUMPED UP TO SIT ON HER LAP. SHE PETTED ME. SHE HOLDED ME TIGHT SO I WOULD NOT LICK HER FACE. SHE DOESNT LIKE THAT. SHE SAID

THEN THE LIBRARIAN CALLED FERN SITTED DOWN. GUESS WHAT I DID? THATS RIGHT. I SITTED ON HER LAP TOO. SHE DID NOT LET ME LICK HER FACE.
THEN MOMMY WORKED ON THE PUTER. I BEED QUIET THE WHOLE TIME TO BE A GOOD AND GOOD BOY. NOW I HAVE DEEMED MYSELF.
ON THE WAY HOME WE SEED A MAN I DIDNT KNOW. MOMMY STOPPED TO TALK TO HIM CUS SHE KNOWS HIM. I THINKED HE WAS A STRANGER. I BARKED AND BARKED. SIGH.
FERN THE LIBRARIAN SAYS YOU SHOULD SPRAY BITTER APPLE IN A DOGS MOUTH IF IT BARKS TO MAKE IT BE QUIET. I THINK THAT IS NOT VERY NICE. MOMMY SAYS IF I KEEP BARKING SHE WILL PUT MY CITRONELLA COLLAR ON ME. I DID NOT LIKE THAT LAST TIME. I DO NOT WANT IT GAIN. MAYBE I SHOULD BE QUIET.
HEY DOGS PLEASE WRITE TO ME LETTERS. I GET LONELY TO NOT HAVE ANY DOG FRIENDS.

Dear Sparky,
I think you are lucky to live in a place that welcomes dogs in the library. If you are calm and quiet, will they let you come to children’s story time? That could be a lot of fun for you, I’ll bet. Do you like calm children who give ear rubs?
I can also recommend some very good books for you. When I was little, one of my favorites was “Lad: A Dog.” And if you want a different perspective on barking, try “Only One Woof” by James Herriott. Both are in the children’s section.
