SNIFF

DEAR PEOPLES AND DOGS
HI IT IS ME SPARKY RUDE DOG

TODAY WE GOED WALKING. WE SEED A GOLDEN DOG BIG AND BIG. IT TRIED TO SNIFF ME. I SAID GRR GRR SNAP! THAT MEANS
I AM SCARED. MOMMY PICKED ME UP. I SAID GRR GRR GRR. MOMMY HAD TO POLOGIZE TO THE DOG CUS OF MY BAD MANNERS. IT IS NOT NICE TO GROWL. THEN WE GOED WALKING A LITTLE BIT AND THE DOG COMED BACK. MOMMY SAID
BE PLITE AND LET THE DOG SNIFF YOU. I RUNNED AROUND MOMMY AROUND AND AROUND TO HIDE . THE DOG FOLLOWED ME AROUND AND AROUND TO SNIFF ME. I DID NOT GROWL OR BARK. THE DOG DID NOT SAY ANYTHING. HE JUST SNIFFED. HE DID NOT HURT ME. I DID NOT NEED TO BE SCARED.

MOMMY SAID THE DOG LIVES AT THE CAR FIXING PLACE WITH HIS DADDY. HE WALKS AROUND WHEN HE WANTS TO. MAYBE WE WILL SEE HIM AGAIN. I THINK I WILL STILL BE SCARED A LITTLE BIT.

  1. It’s pretty bad when I have to apologize to a dog for Sparky’s rude behavior. Sheesh. I’m sorry to say he’s not adequately socialized. We’re working on it, though. We’d go to doggy daycare if I could afford it. Sigh.

  2. Sparky sounds pretty normal to me – and you know ‘normal’ is a great goal for our Tripawd babies. When we’re out with our big dogs the little ones always act all tough with them. The little ‘snacks’ get the ‘you’ve got to be kidding’ look from Toby and Baby and we walk on. When they finally make friends and play it’s adorable because Toby gets down and let’s the little guys attack. So cute.
I’m sure Sparky’s manners will improve as he makes more big dog friends. Good to have ‘normal’ problems!

  3. Oh poor Sparky. Becky you make me laugh, and I can see you and Sparky super “big” brave boy. I reckon it’s the same with humans…there are some people we just don’t take to.

I think sometimes some dogs give off a wiff of “I’ll boss you around if you let me” so our boys have to do a bit of stand up growl stuff. I watch Gandalf’s tail…if it’s wagging parallel to his body, great. If high and wagging, I know he might decide to do tough boy routine. And if no wags at all I know he’s scared and I get out of there pronto.

more photos of sparky please 🙂

  4. We will keep walking, keep meeting dogs and people, and Sparky will learn how to be sociable. I spent so long teaching him not to be terrified of people, I didn’t think a lot about having him around big dogs. You’re right, Judy, it’s good to be dealing with normal problems instead of the big problems that brought us all here in the first place.
