YELP!

DEAR PEOPLES
HI IT IS ME SPARKY

DID I TELL TO YOU ABOUT THE LADY LIVES BY US CALLED BETTY? SHE COMES TO SIT OUTSIDE TO VISIT WITH OUR FRIENDS. BEFORE I SITTED ON HER LAP AND SHE PETTED ME. NOW I DO NOT LIKE HER. LAST WEEK I SITTED ON HER LAP. SHE PINCHED MY EAR HARD. I SAID
YELP!
THAT MEANS OW!

I JUMPED DOWN.

NOW TODAY I SITTED ON HER LAP AGAIN TO GIVE HER ANOTHER CHANCE. SHE SQUEEZED ME HARD TO HURT ME. I SAID YELP! AGAIN. I JUMPED DOWN AGAIN TO NOT WANT TO BE WITH HER ANYMORE. SHE IS A BAD BETTY. I DO NOT LIKE HER. LADYS ARE NOT SPOSTA HURT LITTLE DOGGYS. I AM SCARED OF HER A LITTLE BIT.

MOMMY SAYS BAD BETTY HAS A BROKE BRAIN TO NOT KNOW WHAT SHE IS DOING. I SAY I SHOULD NOT SIT ON HER LAP ANY MORE. DO YOU THINK SO? I DO NOT LIKE TO BE HURT.

LOVE FROM SPARKY YELPING DOG

  1. Betty has brain damage. She doesn’t seem to understand that she needs to be gentle with Sparky. I’m gonna have to keep them separated for now. It’s too bad because she didn’t used to be so rough.

  2. Well Sparky, this story is kind of a bummer. Sounds like you like Betty, but she maybe doesn’t realize she’s hurting you. I think for right now, your Mom is right and you probably shouldn’t sit on Betty’s lap for awhile. Maybe she could just hand you some treats next time she’s over. I hope you’re feeling better from her squeezing you too tightly!

  3. I woulda bit her but thats just me. You are a good boy Sparky not to bite. Sounds like she din’t mean it, she just doesn’t realize. Sounds she likes you too so maybe you can try to be nice to her but also keep your distance. Maybe you can say hey to her from the ground, so she knows you are paying attention to her, but she cant hurt you.

  4. Oh, sorry to hear that, Sparky. I think Maximutt is right – maybe she can just hand you a treat. That would be nice, huh?

I’m sure she doesn’t mean to hurt you! Hopefully she will learn to be gentle with you.

    Hope your ear feels better.
