DEAR DEAR PEOPLES AND DOGS AND JILLY
HI! IT IS ME! DID YOU FORGET ME? IM SORRY I DID NOT WRITE FOR A LONG TIME. I BEED BUSY. I GO WALKING AND MOMMY EVVY DAY. I GO WALKING AND UNCLE RANDY ON TUES AND WED. IT IS CUS MOMMY GOES TO WORK. SHE DOES LIKE IT. BUT SHE MISSES ME. I MISS HER TOO.
TODAY I STANDED ON MOMMY. I PUTTED MY NOSE DOWN HER SHIRT. I PUTTED MY PAW IN HER EYE. I LAID ON HER FACE. I AM A SILLY LITTLE THING.
A THING HAPPENED. I GETTED ANX. SOMETIMES WHEN I AM ON THE COUCH OR THE BED I CANT GET OFF. MOMMY THINKS I AM FAID TO JUMP. MAYBE MY FRONT LEG HURTS. OR MAYBE MY EYES ARE NOT RIGHT AND I CANT SEE THE FLOOR. I DONT KNOW. I STAND ON THE EDGE OF THE COUCH AND HESITATE. I JUST STAND THERE TO SAY YIP! YIP! LIKE I CAN NOT DO IT. I SIT DOWN AND WAIT A MIN THEN I TRY GAIN. I WANT MOMMY TO HELP ME. FIRST SHE HELPED ME OFF THE COUCH BUT THEN SHE SAID
I DO NOT WANT TO MAKE SPARKY DEPENDENT ON ME.
SO NOW SHE DOESNT DO IT ANY MORE. SHE PUTTED DOWN A TREAT ON THE FLOOR AND GUESS WHAT? I JUMPED.
DID YOU EVER BE FAID TO JUMP? DO YOU HESITATE? HOW COME? DO YOU KNOW WHY? DO YOU HURT? I AM VERY LITTLE SO IT IS A LONG WAY DOWN FOR ME TO JUMP. PLEASE TELL TO ME IF YOU KNOW WHY I AM ANX K? THANK YOU.
I LOVE YOU. YOU LOVE ME TOO.
BYE!
LOVE SPARKY
maybe you anx for a reason sparky the dog. the vets say jumping down on remaining limbs can cause tiny bone frak shurs, over time they say. do not jump to far, too hard, too much. ok? ok. it is good to hear from you too.
Oh Sparky! It is so much fun to read your blog, even if you do send me an email every day! You’ve been talking about this jumping thing for quite awhile, but after reading your blog, I really do finally have a picture in my mind of the problem you’re having. It makes perfect sense to me now that jumping down onto just one paw would be kind of scary. I don’t know that it causes you pain, but you are mighty smart and probably know what COULD happen, right? So, I don’t know whether you need a ladder or a parachute…but how about a couple of throw pillows or even a stack of books, so that you can take a “step” on the way down? And if that doesn’t work, we could get you an appointment with the pupthalmologist and check on some reading glasses. After all, you do spend a lot of time looking at those little words on the computer! ~ Love from Auntie Judy & Poo the Rotten Dog and Zillah the one-time faidy cat
SPARKY!!! SPARKY!!!! So good to hear from you!!! We always get our “cuteness fix” when we hear from you!!
Yeah, it seems to me you are trying to tell your mom something is a little “off” when you try and jump down. I does sound like you need to be lifted down or at least jave pillows to soften the blow.
I was owned by a fella about your size for many, many years. He became more hesitant to jump up on the chair with me and to jump down. I assisted him up and down. I do believe it started becoming a strain on his joints, his back, etc. Also, I think his eyesight wasn’t as sharp either.
So Sparky, we “vote” for getting assistance and don’t think you are just trying to get more spoiling!!! Besides, I don’t know if it’s even possible to get more spoiling!
Thanks for letti g us hear from you! You are such a DELIGHTFUL fella’ and we love you!!
Hugs to all!
Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle too!
Oh Sparky! We missed you! Please don’t be away so long, we start to worry about you.
Now I wonder why you don’t want to jump. Does it hurt when you land? Can you still go on walks? What happens when you are done walking? Are you sore?
Even though it doesn’t seem like a long way up on the couch, or down, it is for a little Tripawd like you. I think it’s OK for your Mommy to pick you up and help you down.
