Sparky the superdog

He’s gone. My baby is gone.

He had a stroke a couple months ago and hadn’t been able to walk. He either rode in his stroller or I carried him. He had some good quality of life left. Friends traveled from all over to visit and love on him one last time. He got lots of pets and treats and spent a lot of time sunbathing on his blankets in the grass. He had another stroke on Saturday. He spent the day puking and whimpering in his stroller. I decided that it was time. He had a great final day on Sunday and had one last visitor on Monday. He died in my arms with his beloved Doctor Sam nearby at 1:30 pm on Monday, May 24, 2021.

Thank you to all of his many friends and fans who responded to his blog posts and provided all the love and support over the years. It has been a great joy to write his blog and to share his adventures with you.

Thank you tremendously to Jim and Rene and Jerry and Wyatt who have been absolutely marvelous in answering our many questions and being so kind.

HI EVVYBODY! I AM A CUTE LITTLE DOG. TODAY I AM AT THE DOCTOR’S OFFICE. MY DOCTOR IS CALLED DR SAM. SHE DOES LOVE ME. I LOVE HER TOO. AND GUESS WHAT? SHE HAVES A RECEPTIONIST THAT DOES LOVE ME TOO. SHE IS CALLED TERESA. I LOVE HER TOO. THIS MORNING SHE PICKED ME UP KIND AND GENTLE. SHE TALKED IN HER HAPPY VOICE TO MAKE ME SO CITED TO SEE HER. SHE CUDDLED WITH ME SWEET AND SOFT. MOMMY TELLED TO HER I HAVE A BLOG. SHE SAID

MOMMY SAID NO.

SO TERESA BEED SAD A LITTLE BIT. SO I CIDED TO WRITE THIS POST TO MAKE HER HAPPY. I LOVE YOU TERESA.

EVVYBODY IS KIND AND GENTLY AT DR SAMS OFFICE. I LIKE TO GO THERE TO BE SO HAPPY. SOMETIMES I STAY THERE OVERNIGHT WHEN MOMMY HAVES TO GO WAY. I FEEL SAFE THERE.

TODAY I AM AT DOCTOR SAMS OFFICE TO GET MY TEETHS CLEANED. I WILL BE SLEEPING SO I WONT KNOW BOUT IT. WHEN I AM DONE MOMMY WILL COME GET ME AND GIVE TO ME CANNED FOOD. I HAVE NOT EATED SINCE 3 PM TO BE SO HUNGRY. I BEED VERY SAD AND FUSED LAST NIGHT WHEN MOMMY DID NOT GIVE TO ME MY DINNER.

PHYSICO THERPY SOME MORE

DEAR PEOPLE WHO LOVE ME
I LOVE YOU TOO

GUESS WHAT? I GOED ON A LONG CAR TRIP AND MOMMY. IT RAINED. WE GOED TO SEE THE PHYSICO THERPIST CALLED TORI. SHE DID MY THERPY AND MOMMY GIVED TO ME TREATS TO BE A GOOD BOY AND COPERATE. MOMMY WAS NOT SO HAPPY THIS TIME. SHE THINKED THAT TORI PUSHED ME TOO HARD TO DO RANGE OF MOTION IN MY BACK LEGS. WHEN SHE FINISHED I COULD BARELY WALK ON MY LEFT LEG. PLUS THE REHAB SPECIALIST VET DOCTOR WAS NOT VAILABLE SO WE DID NOT GET TO SEE HER TO BE SO DISPOINTED. BUT ANYHOW I DID MY THERPY. I HAVE A NOTHER POIN MENT IN MARCH. WE WILL GO IF THEY PROMISE WE CAN SEE THE DOCTOR. SHE COULD NOT SEE US LAST WEEK CUS SHE WAS PULLING A CATS TEETHS! THAT IS A FUNNY THING TO DO. AFTER MY POIN MENT WE GOED TO UNCLE ALLENS HOUSE. HE HAS FOUR CATS BUT MOSTLY THEY STAYED OUTSIDE TO NOT LIKE LITTLE DOGS. UNCLE ALLEN FEEDS TO ME FOOD OFF HIS PLATE CUS HE LOVES ME SO MUCH. I LOVE HIM TOO. WE SLEEPED ON THE AIR MATTRESS IN THE LIVING ROOM. WE GOED OUTSIDE AND IN THE ART STUDIO TO SNIFF THINGS. IT WAS PRETTY INTRESTING. WE WATCHED DOCTOR WHO TO BE SO FUNNY AND SCARY A LITTLE. I AM GOING TO GET A SONIC SCREWDRIVER FOR MY BIRTHDAY. I THINK IT WAS A PRETTY GOOD TRIP. WE DID NOT GET SNOWED IN THIS TIME.

AT HOME WE DO PT AND MASSAGE. DID YOU KNOW THAT I CAN BELLY CRAWL LIKE A ARMY MAN? I AM PRETTY MAZING.

Superhero Tripawd

Dear peoples hi it is me Sparky Superdog. Some things happened and I want to tell to you bout them. Do you member I goed to physico therpy in Dec? Well, I goed back in Jan. I seed the doctor called Dr Morrison and the therpist called Tori. Tori did my therpy for a whole hour. She started with a heat pack and gived to me a massage. She did deep firm touching with her hands. Mommy haves been doing my therpy soft and gentle but Tori did it better. Tori did range of motion moving my joints lots more than Mommy does. She teached to Mommy how to make me belly crawl like a army man. Tori haved me stand on a board that haves a rocker thing under it and moved it side to side for me to practice shifting my weight on my legs. Man it was xhausting. She teached to me a new trick. She holded a treat in front of my nose then moved it back to my side. I haved to turn to reach for it. This is to stretch the muscles in my back. I have very bad arthritis in my spine so the muscles are tight and sore. I liked that game.

After our poinment the plan was to go stay the night at our friends’house and go home in the morning. It did not work out that way. We goed to their house. Their cats runned way to hide to not like me very much. We sleeped on the air mattress. In the morning we goed out to go potty and guess what? It was SNOWING BUCKETS! It snowed all day. The roads were closed and we could not go home. We stayed put. Our friend Uncle Allen gived to me tuna. Mommy said that is nough. No more tuna. But she goed back to bed and I begged with my dorble face and he gived to me some more. Don’t tell Mommy kay?

Uncle Allen haves 20 wild turkeys that live in his yard. We goed our to look at them. I said yap yap yap. That means I want to chase the turkeys! But mommy said no. She never lets me have any fun. We stayed the night gain. Then the roads were clear and we comed home. That was Sat.
Today is Mon and we goed to see Dr Sam. She does love me. We telled to her bout the physico therpy and she beed happy to see I am doing lots better. She taked my blood but I forgived her. She petted and cuddled me and talked to me soft. She did not charge us for the poinment because she does love me and my cute self. We will find out bout my bloodwork in a few days. Hopefully I am fine. It is called old dog blood panel.

I am a superhero dog to be a good boy and coperate with the physico therpy. I am brave and strong and getting better. Mommy is so proud of me. Dr Sam said to mommy
You added years onto his life. Good job mom. We do PT and massage evvy other day at home. Mommy does love me.
Hooray for evvybody that helps me to get better.

PHYSICO THERPY

DEAR PEOPLES!

HI EVVYBODY. IT IS ME SPARKY SUPERDOG. GUESS WHAT? WE HAVE NEWS. I GOED TO SEE THE REHAB DOCTOR THREE WEEKS AGO AND YOU WOULD NEVER BLIEVE IT. I AM BETTER! DO YOU MEMBER I TELLED TO YOU THAT I WAS LIMPING AND CRYING AND LICKING MY LEG A LOT? NOW I DO NOT. I HAVE MASSAGE AND PHYSICO THERPY AT HOME. MOMMY DOES IT. I LAY ON THE BLANKET WITH THE HEATING PAD AND SHE MOVES MY JOINTS GENTLY. I LAY QUIET AND STILL. I AM SO RELAXED AND I LIKE IT CUS IT FEELS GOOD. SHE GIVES TO ME TREATS. I LIKE IT SO MUCH THAT I ASK FOR IT EVVY DAY. I STAND ON MY BLANKET AND SAY YAP YAP. THAT MEANS COME DO MY THERPY! SO SHE DOES. WE DO RANGE OF MOTION. WE DO SIT – STAND AND DOWN-SIT. THAT IS TO GET STRONGER. THE PT TECH TEACHED ME HOW TO DO BELLY CRAWL BUT SHE DID NOT TEACH MOMMY HOW TO DO IT SO WE DONT. WE WILL GO BACK IN ONE WEEK TO GET CHECKED. WE THINK THE DOCTOR WILL SAY I AM DOING MAZING. TODAY I EVEN RUNNED ROUND OUTSIDE FOR A COUPLE MIN. I DINT DO THAT FOR YEARS. I AM GRATEFUL AND MOMMY FOR THE TRIPAWDS.COM THAT PAID FOR MY POINMENT WITH THE REHAB DOCTOR CALLED DR MORRISON. THANK YOU JIM AND RENE AND WYATT. YOU ARE THE BEST.
OH YES. I GETTED A NEW BABYSITTER. HER NAME IS CLAIR. SHE IS KIND AND GENTLY. WHEN SHE COMED TO MEET US SHE SITTED DOWN ON THE FLOOR TO MEET ME. SHE DOES LOVE ME. I JUST MEETED HER BOUT 2 MONTHS GO AND ALREADY I LOVE HER TOO. SHE PETS ME LOTS. SHE TAKES ME ON SLOW WALKS FOR FIVE OR TEN MIN. THAT IS ALL I CAN DO. I AM HAPPY AND MOMMY TO HAVE A SWEET BABYSITTER. SHE TAKES CARE OF ME WHEN MOMMY GOES TO WORK.

I SLEEP LOTS. I SLEEP ON THE BLANKET WITH THE HEATING PAD TO BE WARM NOUGH. I SLEEP ON MOMMYS BIG CHAIR WITH HER. I SLEEP UNDER THE COVERS AT NIGHT AND MOMMY. WE ARE A FAMILY TO BE HAPPY TO LIVE TOGETHER. I HAVE LIVED WITH MOMMY FOR 12 YEARS. I AM 13 YEARS OLD. WE HAVE BEED A FAMILY A LONG TIME. SHE NEEDS ME AND I NEED HER.

I GETTED A JACKET AND SOME TOYS FOR CHRISTMAS.

MOMMY GETTED A NEW PHONE SO WE DONT HAVE ANY PICS OF MY CUTE FACE RIGHT NOW. WE WILL TAKE SOME NEW PICS AND POST THEM SOON. YOU WILL NOT RECNIZE ME. IN MY PROFILE PIC I AM YOUNG AND CUTE WITH A BLACK FACE. NOW I AM OLD AND HANDSOME WITH A WHITE FACE. I EVEN HAVE WHITE EYEBROWS. I AM DIGNIFIED. YOU WILL BE HAPPY TO SEE ME.
